Minetest 5.5.0 is Out, Forked their own Rendering Engine with IrrlichtMT

Minetest 5.5.0 is now available. This includes a switch from Irrlicht to Minetest's own fork of IrrlichtMt that has specific enhancements for Minetest. What is Minetest? It's an open-source game engine that can be modified to make different games - such as Minecraft.

There's quite a number of modifications, apart from rendering tech changing. Here are some highlights:

- Improved TTF font support Touch UI support for desktop builds - Joystick sensitivity to player movement - Links clickable in chat, but disabled by default - Normal texture support (for minimap shading) Animations are paused while game is paused - Modpacks that contain modpacks are properly handled in the content downloader A variety of new features for modders - Performance enhancements and bug fixes - Add a button to switch the display map block boundaries (F8 by default)
